About the Role

The Facades Design Manager role in London requires a professional with substantial technical expertise in complex building envelope solutions. This permanent position offers a salary between £70,000 and £85,000 plus an additional package. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience, ideally gained at a leading sub-contractor handling projects up to £20 million or from a specialist consultancy. Responsibilities include producing detailed façade system designs from architectural sketches, delivering tender and shop drawing packages, and providing 2D and 3D drafting using AutoCAD. The role also involves preparing technical specifications, coordinating with stakeholders to resolve project issues, and evaluating design deliverables to maintain quality standards.

This Design Manager will ideally come from one of their main competitors, leading sub-contractor that is used to technically challenging facade packages up to £20million in value, or someone that comes from a specialist consultancy with at least 5 years worth of facades experiences.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Produce details of façade systems based on architectural sketches and assist in the delivery of detailed façade tenders and shop drawing packages.
Provide 2D and 3D drafting using Autocad software for architectural documentation and detailed working drawings
Prepare façade technical specifications
Coordinate with the relevant parties to raise/resolve project-related issues which could affect the delivery of the documentation
Review and evaluate design deliverables to ensure buildability and compliance, liaising with the client''s design team and specialist suppliers
Working with both the in house and external project teams to ensure that the company, clients requirements, programme targets and budgets are achieved
Attendance and hosting of internal and external design workshops representing the company
Management of internal and external design teams to ensure compliance with the project design, incorporation of common details, product specification, building regulations and national standards
Design cost management, accountability for design processes, recording and maintaining variations lists

Depending on the calibre of the candidate, my client will look to pay up £85k plus package for the right person.
