You will be responsible for fabricating, assembling and repairing steel components and equipment used within a busy manufacturing environment. The role involves MIG & ARC welding, working from engineering drawings, operating workshop machinery and carrying out general fabrication duties. The duties of the role include; MIG & ARC welding of mild steel plate, sections and fabricated components Fabricating and assembling steelwork from engineering drawings Flame cutting using oxy-acetylene equipment Drilling, tapping, grinding and preparing materials for fabrication Operating workshop machinery including saws, guillotines, drills and overhead cranes Repairing and modifying plant equipment and steel structures A counterbalance forklift truck licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
