Fabricator Team Leader

We’re hiring for a Fabricator Team Leader to join a leading manufacturer based in Hyde, Tameside. This is a hands-on role for a skilled fabricator who’s ready to take the next step into team leadership, supporting a busy production environment and driving continuous improvement.

What will you be doing as a Fabricator Team Leader?

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to fabricate steel components to specification
• Performing MIG welding, seam welding, grinding and using fabrication machinery including guillotines, saws, and punch presses
• Delegating daily tasks and providing frontline supervision to the fabrication team
• Supporting planning and production to ensure workflow efficiency
• Acting as the go-to person on the shop floor for operational issues
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality, and housekeeping
• Participating in management training and leadership development programmes

What do you need?

• Previous experience in a fabrication role with strong technical knowledge
• The ability to read and work from detailed technical drawings
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A proactive and organised approach with a focus on quality and team development
• Experience operating a range of fabrication tools and machinery
• Time-served apprenticeship (advantageous)
