This is an opportunity to use your fabrication and plating skills within a world-class shipbuilding environment.What You''ll Be DoingAs a Fabricator / Plater, you will be responsible for fabricating, fitting and assembling structural steelwork and ship components, working from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.Key responsibilities include:Fabricating and assembling ship structures including shell plating, decks, bulkheads, frames and longitudinalsMarking out, cutting and fitting steelwork from engineering drawingsFabricating and installing items such as ladders, platforms, seating and panelsFitting watertight doors, hatches, equipment foundations and deck coveringsOperating fabrication machinery including rollers, flanging machines, guillotines and sawsPreparing and manipulating plate using oxy-fuel cutting, grinding and drilling equipmentCarrying out accurate fitting, alignment and assembly of structural componentsWorking to required quality, safety and production standardsWorking closely with welders, supervisors and other trades to overcome production challengesMaintaining a safe, clean and productive working environmentEssential RequirementsTime-served Fabricator / Plater ..... full job details .....
