Working as part of a skilled production team, you''ll fabricate, assemble and install structural steelwork and ship components, contributing to the build of complex defence vessels. Key Responsibilities: Fabricate and assemble ship structures including shell plating, decks, bulkheads, frames and longitudinals. Mark out and fit steelwork from engineering drawings. Manufacture and install fabricated items including ladders, platforms, seating and panels. Install watertight doors, hatches, equipment foundations and deck coverings. Operate fabrication machinery including rollers, flanging machines, guillotines and saws. Carry out plate preparation using oxy-fuel cutting, grinding and drilling equipment. Work safely to quality and production standards within a heavy engineering environment. Requirements: Time-served Fabricator/Plater apprenticeship or equivalent.
