Are you a skilled Fabricator Fitter looking to take your career to the next level? Join a dedicated team supporting the UK''s defence industry by manufacturing high-quality equipment to exacting standards.

The Role:
As a Fabricator Fitter, you''ll work in a high-tech facility using jigs and fixtures to manufacture precision components that meet strict engineering drawings and work instructions. Full training will be provided to obtain welding qualifications in line with EN ISO (phone number removed).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tack weld using MIG/MAG welding processes on armour plates.
  • Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety Policies, identifying hazards before starting work.
  • Use drawings and work instructions to complete fabrication tasks accurately.
  • Perform visual and non-destructive inspections to ensure all components meet quality standards.
  • Use hand tools and appropriate measuring instruments.
  • Complete welder approval tests in accordance with European standards on a regular basis.
  • Report equipment faults or unusual occurrences through the approved maintenance system.
  • Maintain personal and team safety by following all regulatory safety requirements.



Qualifications & Education:

  • Recognised Time-Served Apprenticeship in Welding or related discipline.
  • NVQ Level 3 in relevant field or equivalent.
  • Welding operator qualification to ISO 14732.
  • Welder qualification to ISO 9606 (Parts 1 and/or 2).



Experience & Skills:

  • Hands-on welding/fitting experience in a heavy fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of key production processes, quality control, and safety systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and industry regulations.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
