Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Fabric Technician to join our team at Battersea. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality fabric maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legislative and contractual requirements.
As part of the on-site engineering team, you will uphold our clients professional standards, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the safe and smooth operation of the site’s building fabric and associated assets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out day-to-day reactive fabric maintenance and repair tasks, including work on fixtures, fittings, and the building envelope.
- Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) by completing all necessary documentation, including work records and compliance logs.
- Maintain regular communication with the site management team regarding job progress and updates.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Provide support and cover for other team members as required.
- Escort and coordinate with specialist subcontractors when necessary.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude when interacting with clients and building users.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by management, including tasks assigned by company directors.

What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in fabric maintenance and repairs within a commercial environment.
- Familiarity with maintaining building structure, fixtures, fittings, and finishes.
- Minimum of 2 years’ industry experience.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of L8 ACOP (Legionella Awareness).
- Minimum qualification: City and Guilds in Painting and Decorating, Carpentry/Joinery, Plumbing, or equivalent trade.
- IOSH Working Safely certification or equivalent health and safety awareness.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work.
- Open, honest, and trustworthy with a proactive and “can-do” attitude.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to take initiative when required.
- Awareness of the importance of safe working practices and consideration for others.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
