Fabric Engineer Location: BirminghamSalary: £32,000-£35,000 per annumHours: 40 hours per weekJob Type: Permanent The Role We are recruiting an experienced Fabric Engineer to join a site-based maintenance team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabric maintenance professional to work across a range of buildings, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and general building fabric works. You will be responsible for maintaining the safety, condition and functionality of building fabric and associated systems, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with relevant Health and Safety requirements. The role will suit someone with strong practical maintenance experience who can work independently, respond to faults efficiently and support the wider engineering team. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across building fabric systems. Inspect, maintain and repair fire doors and passive fire protection systems. Undertake maintenance and repairs to drainage systems. Carry out inspections and repairs to cladding and roofing systems. Complete general joinery repairs and other building fabric maintenance tasks. Diagnose faults, identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial works. Assist with minor installations, upgrades and building adaptation projects.
