Supply Desk is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Watford from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teaching assistant who is committed to supporting young children with special educational needs and helping them make the best possible start to their education. The successful candidate will provide nurturing, individualised support to pupils, helping them develop academically, socially, emotionally, and personally within a stimulating Early Years environment.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team, you will support children with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop their independence, and build confidence. You will play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to learn, explore, and thrive.

The school is looking for a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant who understands the importance of early intervention and can build strong, trusting relationships with children. Experience supporting pupils with additional needs in an EYFS or primary school setting would be highly desirable.

• Provide dedicated one-to-one and small-group support for children with special educational needs.
• Support pupils to access EYFS learning activities through appropriate adaptations and differentiated support.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning and support strategies.
• Encourage children''s communication, social interaction, independence, and emotional development.
• Support children with a range of additional needs, helping them to feel confident and included within the classroom.
• Assist with observations and monitoring of children''s progress, sharing relevant information with teachers and the SENCO.
• Create a calm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children feel safe and supported.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help children develop appropriate social and emotional skills.
• Support pupils during classroom activities, outdoor learning, play, lunchtimes, and other aspects of the school day.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, parents, carers, and colleagues.
• Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and school events.
• Uphold high standards of safeguarding, behaviour, and pupil wellbeing.

• Has previous experience working with children within an EYFS or primary school setting.
• Has experience supporting children with special educational needs and/or additional needs.
• Is passionate about helping young children develop and achieve their full potential.
• Demonstrates a patient, nurturing, and understanding approach when supporting pupils.
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is confident supporting children''s social, emotional, communication, and learning needs.
• Can work effectively alongside class teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals.
• Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Is reliable, adaptable, proactive, and able to respond positively to the individual needs of pupils.
• Is committed to promoting an inclusive learning environment where every child is valued and supported.
