Job description

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant with SEND experience to join a supportive primary school in the Wirral. This role is based in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) base, supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEND in EYFS

Assist the teacher in adapting activities to meet individual needs

Support pupils with communication, social skills, and personal development

Encourage independence and positive behaviour in line with school policies

Contribute to observations and assessments of pupil progress

Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to ensure the best outcomes

Requirements

SEND experience in a UK school setting (essential)

Previous EYFS or primary experience (preferred)

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

2 professional references covering the last 2 years

Caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young children
