Extra Care and Support Assistant - Waking Nights

Overview

As an Extra Care and Support Assistant you will work with our customers to flexibly meet their individual needs, in accordance with their care and support plans. You will be a kind, caring person who is understanding and patient, with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to get involved with any challenge. You will be a fantastic listener with excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure and act decisively in emergencies. Ideally you will have experience in the care and support sector, but full training will be provided. A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required. Above all, we are looking for someone who cares about our clients’ happiness, comfort and dignity, and is passionate about making a positive difference to their lives.

Miners Court is Coastline''s extra care living facility in Redruth, providing an integrated care and support service that promotes independence for all our customers.

Responsibilities

Work with customers to meet their individual needs in line with care and support plans.

Demonstrate kindness, understanding, patience and a positive, can-do attitude.

Listen actively and communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and others involved in care.

Remain calm under pressure and in emergencies, acting decisively as required.

Support and participate in the care and support process, with training provided if needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).

A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required.

Experience in the care and support sector is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Strong caring nature with a genuine desire to support happiness, comfort and dignity of clients.
