Export Manager - Road Freight

Position: Road Freight Export Manager
Location: Dartford area
Salary: -45,000 - -50,000 (DOE)

Our client, a well-established freight forwarding and logistics provider, is seeking an experienced Road Freight Export Manager to lead our road freight export operations. You will coordinate shipments, manage trailer planning and capacity, and deliver efficient transport solutions across the UK and Europe.

This role requires strong operational knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to maintain high service levels while controlling costs and ensuring compliance.

Job Overview

• Manage Export Operations: Oversee all road freight export shipments and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Trailer & Capacity Planning: Plan and allocate trailers efficiently, optimise utilisation, and coordinate warehouse loading schedules.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and support the export team, providing guidance on planning, routing, and problem-solving.
• Customer & Carrier Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and European partners; provide shipment updates and resolve queries.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure accurate export paperwork, liaise with customs, and comply with transport regulations.
• Cost & Performance Control: Monitor costs, improve planning efficiency, and minimise delays.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience within road freight exports
• Experience within European road freight operations advantageous
• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a freight forwarding environment
• Solid understanding of trailer planning, route optimisation, and export scheduling
• Good knowledge of export documentation, CMRs, customs processes, and transport compliance
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• -45,000 - -50,000 dependent on experience
• Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
• Office Based
• 28 days holiday including UK bank holidays
