Location: Northampton (with hybrid working available after probation)
Hours: 09:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday (Occasional weekends)
Salary: -30,000 - -34,000 Per Annum
Role Overview
Our client is a global logistics and supply chain management company, integrating road, air and sea transport services. They have an exciting opportunity for an Export Customs Supervisor to join the team on a full time, permanent basis!
The successful candidate will lead the export customs function during the day shift and will be responsible for overseeing export clearance activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting a team to deliver accurate and timely processing of shipments.
This role is ideal for a confident supervisor who thrives in a structured, fast-moving operational environment. Full customs training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day export customs operations
- Ensure export declarations are completed accurately and submitted on time
- Allocate and manage workloads within the export team
- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members
- Act as the main escalation point for export queries and issues
- Coordinate with internal departments, carriers, and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with export regulations and internal procedures (training provided)
- Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness
- Identify and support process improvements within the export function
About You
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload in a high-volume environment
- Calm and effective problem-solver
- Strong attention to detail
- Customs/export experience is advantageous but not essential (training provided)
