Experienced 5-Axis CNC Miller / Programmer

Brown & Holmes is looking for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Miller / Programmer to join its growing engineering team.

This role will involve working on a large-capacity Lagun 5-axis machining centre with a 4-metre bed, producing complex, high-quality components for demanding engineering sectors.

The role will include:

• Programming, setting and operating a 5-axis Lagun machining centre
• Working with Heidenhain controls
• Machining large, complex and high-value components
• Producing one-off and low-volume precision-engineered parts
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
• Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining strategies
• Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining high quality standards
• Working closely with engineering and production colleagues to improve machining processes and reduce cycle times
• Working to tight deadlines

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong experience programming, setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Good working knowledge of Heidenhain controls
• Experience operating Lagun machinery, or similar large-capacity machining centres
• Proven experience machining larger components
• The ability to work confidently and independently on complex jobs
• A strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and inspection methods
• A practical, quality-focused approach to problem-solving
