Executive Support Manager

About the Role: One of my local government clients is seeking an experienced Executive Support Manager to lead and manage the Chief Officer Support Service, providing high-level support to Executive Directors and the Strategic Directorate Teams. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring efficient and professional delivery of executive support services, managing a team of personal assistants, and acting as a strategic advisor to the Executive Directors. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage a team of Executive PAs Provide direct strategic support to Executive Directors, including horizon scanning, commissioning briefs, and stakeholder management Coordinate Cabinet Member briefings and act as liaison for councillors, stakeholders, and internal teams Draft, review, and commission briefing materials for internal/external meetings Maintain information protocols and lead cross-departmental coordination Use political awareness and judgement to manage sensitive communications Deliver strategic priorities and support high-level decision making across the Directorate Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in a senior EA/Executive Support or Business Management role Line management of business support or PA teams Strong organisational and leadership skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience working within a local authority, council or political environment Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders, MPs, councillors, ..... full job details .....
