Who are SPHERE https://www.thesphere.com.au/Maridulu Budyari Gumal – the Sydney Partnership for Health, Education, Research and Enterprise (SPHERE) is an NHMRC accredited Advanced Health Research Translation Centre (AHRTC). Hosted by UNSW in partnership with 4 health partners (SWSLHD, SESLHD, St Vincents Health Network, and SCHN) and 10 other organisations (Universities and MRIs). SPHERE is dedicated to advancing health outcomes and healthcare through research translation and capacity building.Role focus

Why your role mattersThis position is an exceptional opportunity to lead SPHERE at a critical stage in its evolution. The new Executive Director will be central in driving the future success of SPHERE to ensure that SPHERE meets the requirements outlined by the NHMRC as well as the priorities set by its partners. As the Executive Director you will provide strong strategic and operational leadership, and will work with Council to implement our strategy, revitalise our partnerships and position SPHERE for successful reaccreditation by 2027.Who You Are

This role is suitable for an outstanding clinician researcher, translational scientist or health administrator and first-class advocate. You will be an exceptional leader who can drive organisational management and champion health research translation to really elevate SPHERE. You will have a demonstrated track record of working closely with the health system including the health entities across NSW Health, and a proven ability of successful engagement with key stakeholders including government, funding bodies and community organisations. You will also:Possess a relevant degree and ideally post graduate qualifications. Qualifications and academic experience in the clinical or other relevant health sector are essentialPossess a strong track record of achievement in working and influencing to build partnerships across sectors and will possess the personal authority to hold credibility with academics, clinicians, the local health community, industry and national policy makers.Possess a strong track record in health research translation in complex environments.Evidence of strategic and operational leadership including setting and executing a strategy, people management, management of finances and budgets.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships and to influence others at all levels both within SPHERE and its external stakeholders.Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse groups and individuals, with demonstrated experience in dealing with complex issues involving multiple stakeholders.For further information on the role and responsibilities, please refer to the position descriptionHow to Apply
