The OpportunityMuir Group is seeking an exceptional professional to join its Executive Team as Executive Director – Homes. This strategic leadership role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality homes and property services, as well as oversight of Health and Safety, Asset Management and Development strategies across the organisation.
Working in close partnership with the Chief Executive and Executive Management Team, the postholder will help shape and deliver Muir’s Corporate Plan and long-term growth ambitions, ensuring customer safety, service excellence and value for money remain at the heart of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic development and operational delivery of Asset Management, Health and Safety and Development functions
Oversee the design and delivery of repairs, investment and new homes, ensuring services are customer-focused, efficient and compliant
Act as the Group’s ‘Responsible Person’ for compliance with Safety and Quality and Corporate/ Landlord Health and Safety standards
Attend Board and Committee meetings, providing expert strategic advice within the Homes portfolio
Contribute to growth objectives through the delivery of new homes and exploration of non-organic growth opportunities
Lead the development of a 30-year asset investment plan aligned with short- and long-term organisational priorities
Build and maintain effective relationships with key regional and national stakeholders, regulators, and partners
Foster a high-performing, inclusive culture within the Homes Directorate and across the organisation
About YouThis role requires a senior leader with extensive experience in the housing sector and a strong understanding of asset management, compliance, health and safety, and development. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Substantial leadership experience within the housing sector or a related environment
Strong understanding of regulatory standards, particularly those set by the Regulator of Social Housing
Proven experience in leading large-scale capital investment and/or development programmes
Strategic financial and commercial awareness, with experience managing significant budgets
Ability to influence at executive and board level, and lead teams through change
A relevant professional qualification (e.g. RICS, CIOB) or equivalent knowledge gained through training and experience
