The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Muir Group is seeking an exceptional professional to join its Executive Team as Executive Director – Homes. This strategic leadership role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality homes and property services, as well as oversight of Health and Safety, Asset Management and Development strategies across the organisation.Working in close partnership with the Chief Executive and Executive Management Team, the postholder will help shape and deliver Muir’s Corporate Plan and long-term growth ambitions, ensuring customer safety, service excellence and value for money remain at the heart of delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the strategic development and operational delivery of Asset Management, Health and Safety and Development functionsOversee the design and delivery of repairs, investment and new homes, ensuring services are customer-focused, efficient and compliantAct as the Group’s ‘Responsible Person’ for compliance with Safety and Quality and Corporate/ Landlord Health and Safety standardsAttend Board and Committee meetings, providing expert strategic advice within the Homes portfolioContribute to growth objectives through the delivery of new homes and exploration of non-organic growth opportunitiesLead the development of a 30-year asset investment plan aligned with short- and long-term organisational prioritiesBuild and maintain effective relationships with key regional and national stakeholders, regulators, and partnersFoster a high-performing, inclusive culture within the Homes Directorate and across the organisationAbout YouThis role requires a senior leader with extensive experience in the housing sector and a strong understanding of asset management, compliance, health and safety, and development. The successful candidate will demonstrate:Substantial leadership experience within the housing sector or a related environmentStrong understanding of regulatory standards, particularly those set by the Regulator of Social HousingProven experience in leading large-scale capital investment and/or development programmesStrategic financial and commercial awareness, with experience managing significant budgetsAbility to influence at executive and board level, and lead teams through changeA relevant professional qualification (e.g. RICS, CIOB) or equivalent knowledge gained through training and experienceWhy Join Muir?This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of homes and services for thousands of residents.
