Teacher / Exams & Access Arrangement Assessor
SETTING: Sixth-Form College, 16+
LOCATION: Waltham Forest
REPORTING TO: Director of Inclusion and Wellbeing
SALARY: Sixth Form Teachers'' Pay Scale
HOURS: Full-time | 9am-4:30pm Monday - Friday
CONTRACT: Fixed-term, currently until 22 May 2026
Requirements
- Teaching qualification e.g. PGCE, DETT, QTS etc
- Relavent Access arrangements qualification e.g. AAC, CPT3A, ETAAC
- Enhanced DBS on Update Service
General Responsibilities
- Support safeguarding practices and promote student welfare.
- Uphold equal opportunities policies.
- Assist with UCAS, progression support, and preparation for public exams.
- Carry out additional duties appropriate to the role as required.
Assessment & Access Arrangements
- Assess students for access arrangements and submit applications to awarding bodies.
- Carry out screening and diagnostic assessments and produce clear, accurate reports.
- Plan personalised learning programmes based on assessment outcomes.
Learner Support
- Deliver 1:1 sessions and small workshops to support neurodivergent learners.
- Provide guidance in study skills and effective use of access arrangements.
- Monitor and record learner progress, adjusting support where required.
Operational Responsibilities
- Oversee referrals and allocate appropriate support.
- Maintain accurate records and use relevant tracking/evaluative procedures.
- Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and required training.
