Job title: Event Management EngineerLocation: Corsham Duration: 6 months Rate: £430 per day inside ir35SC security clearance is required for this role The RoleSupporting a key programme within the UK defence environment, we''re looking for a Monitoring/Event Management Engineer with strong Splunk and enterprise tooling experience to join the Hosting andamp; Tooling team onsite at MOD Corsham.You''ll play a key role in monitoring platform management, event correlation, and operational tooling, working closely with engineers, analysts, and client teams to maintain and improve monitoring capabilities across critical services.Key responsibilities include:Managing and optimising Splunk and enterprise monitoring tools. Creating and maintaining event management policies and monitoring rules. Developing Splunk queries (SPL), dashboards, and alerting logic. Supporting tooling platforms such as BMC TrueSight, BMC Discovery, and Netcool. Deploying and managing monitoring agents. Producing technical documentation and architecture diagrams. Supporting both operational (RUN) activities and project delivery. Working directly with client teams to support monitoring requirements. Building automation scripts and integrations (Python/PowerShell/APIs)Required Experience:Strong Splunk experience (SPL, dashboards, rules). Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms (BMC, Netcool, SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios etc.). Knowledge of event management and observability tooling.
