European Road Freight Forwarder

Due to continued success, our client, a global logistics specialist with an excellent reputation within the industry, is currently recruiting for an experienced European Road Freight Forwarder to join their team on the outskirts of Leicester.Key Responsibilities:Planning, organising, directing, and helping to run day-to-day European road freight operationsIncreasing productivity while minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standardsNegotiating rates with customers, as well as transportation costs with suppliersMaintaining and improving working relationships with both customers and suppliersDriving continuous improvement and optimisation of all processesMonitoring transport rates and markets, and managing shipments from start to finishSubcontracting haulage requirements and managing transportation bookings and quotationsThe ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:Proven experience working as a European Road Freight Forwarder, or similar experience within the industryStrong industry knowledge and technical expertiseGood understanding of rates, customers, and suppliers within the European road freight sectorOutstanding customer service skills, with a professional approach to both suppliers and customersAbility to work on own initiative as well as part of a teamAn additional European language would be advantageous; however, it is not essentialIn addition to the opportunity to flourish in an employee-focused culture, the successful ..... full job details .....
