Senior Estimator – Commercial Fit Out Location: Sutton, South London

Our client is an established Main Contractor specialising in commercial fit out and refurbishment projects. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team in Sutton.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Main Contractor Estimator / Senior Estimator with a strong track record in fit out and refurbishment to take a key role within the pre-construction team.

The Role As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for leading the pricing and tendering of projects from initial enquiry through to submission, working closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams to produce accurate and competitive tenders.

Projects will typically be valued up to approximately £8 million and will include commercial fit out, refurbishment and cut & carve schemes.
Key Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for projects up to £8m
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes and tender documentation
• Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates
• Managing the tender process from enquiry through to submission
• Obtaining, analysing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, exclusions and value engineering options
• Working closely with the pre-construction, commercial and delivery teams
• Attending tender meetings, site visits and client meetings where required
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the supply chain
• Ensuring tenders are delivered accurately and within agreed timescales
• Supporting the wider business with pricing and pre-construction advice

About You The ideal candidate will be an experienced Main Contractor Estimator or Senior Estimator with a strong and stable career history.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience working for a Main Contractor
• Strong experience within fit out and refurbishment
• Experience across sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Fit Out and/or Cut & Carve
• Experience pricing projects up to approximately £8m
• A strong understanding of construction methods, materials and subcontract packages
• Excellent knowledge of the tendering and procurement process
• The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• A consistent employment history demonstrating commitment and progression

Important

This is specifically a Main Contractor Estimator / Senior Estimator position. Candidates whose background is primarily QS/Estimator rather than estimating for a Main Contractor may not be suitable.

The position is fully office based in Sutton, so candidates should ideally live within approximately one hour''s travel of Sutton.
