Ivy Resource Group are working with a well-established contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator for a permanent role based in Gloucester. You will be working on a range of education, healthcare, commercial property, residential housing and private clients, with projects ranging from a few hundred pounds to around 25 million. The Role:Review tender documents - study drawings, specifications, schedules and other project information.Measure quantities - calculate the amount of labour, materials and work required for each part of the project.Prepare cost estimates - price materials, labour, plant, subcontractors and other project costs.Obtain subcontractor quotations - contact specialist subcontractors and suppliers and compare their prices.Analyse project risks - identify uncertainties, potential extra costs and commercial risks.Build the tender price - bring all costs together to produce the overall price submitted to the client.Work with the wider team - collaborate with quantity surveyors, contracts managers, buyers, architects and engineers.Check and compare prices - make sure quotations and calculations are accurate and competitive.Attend site visits - understand site conditions, access, logistics and any issues that could affect the price.Meet tender deadlines - make sure estimates and supporting information are completed and submitted on time.Support negotiations - help answer client queries and clarify pricing during the tender process.Learn from previous projects ..... full job details .....
