Our client are a civil engineering and groundworks contractor, known for delivering high-quality groundwork solutions for residential and commercial development projects.

They are now seeking an experienced Groundworks Estimator to join their team in a strategic, client-facing role. This position will lead the estimating function, support the bid pipeline, and play a key part in identifying repeat business and driving commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

• Take the lead in pricing tenders for residential and commercial groundworks packages
• Produce accurate take-offs, cost plans, and tender submissions within deadlines
• Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, engineers, and developers
• Build strong working relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Identify and contribute to securing new business and repeat work opportunities
• Collaborate with senior leadership on estimating strategy and bid planning
• Maintain current knowledge of material and labour costs, contracting rates, and market trends
• Provide support to the construction delivery team as required

Role Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as an estimator within groundworks or civil engineering
• Strong knowledge of tendering processes and commercial risk management
• Established network of industry contacts (developers, contractors, subcontractors) is a strong advantage
• Excellent communication skills and confident in client-facing situations
• Proactive, well-organised, and able to manage workload independently or in a team setting
• Competent with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Full UK driving license
