The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for construction or engineering projects. The role supports business development by ensuring competitive and commercially sound bids aligned with project requirements and company objectives. Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentsPrepare detailed cost estimates including labour, materials, plant, and subcontractorsObtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotationsIdentify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering optionsLiaise with clients, consultants, and internal teamsPrepare and submit tender documentation within deadlinesAttend pre- and post-tender meetingsMaintain cost databases and historical recordsSupport handover to project delivery teamsAbility to interpret technical drawings and specifications independently Proven experience preparing estimates and tender submissionsAbility to interpret technical drawings and specifications independentlyExperience in pricing projects across relevant sectors (e.g. residential, commercial, civils)Strong understanding of subcontractor procurementFamiliarity with standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT, NEC)Good communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong commercial awareness and risk assessment capabilityExperience managing a team or mentoring junior estimatorsProven track record of winning work and delivering competitive bidsAdvanced knowledge of cost planning and value ..... full job details .....
