Estimator

We''re looking for a skilled and motivated Estimator to join the team of a Shrewsbury based manufacturer. This is a great opportunity to be a key player in the company growth, with the potential to build and lead a team in the future. You''ll be responsible for formulating accurate and competitive quotes for a diverse customer base, including clients in the automotive, rail, defence, construction, aerospace, off highway and consumer goods sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimate and Quote Generation:-Prepare comprehensive and accurate estimates and quotes for various projects, specializing in our core services: Presswork, Fabrication, Laser cutting, Welding, and Powder coating. (Must have some fabrication/welding experience)
• Drawing Interpretation:-Effectively read and interpret a wide variety of customer drawings and technical specifications.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:-Work closely with our production, planning, and quality teams to ensure all estimates are feasible and align with our capabilities and capacity.
• Customer Communication:-Serve as a key point of contact for customer inquiries related to estimates and project specifications. You must be presentable and have excellent organisation and communication skills to liaise directly with our clients and internal teams.
• System Management:-Utilise our existing HubSpot-system.

Candidate Profile

We''re looking for someone with a strong background in an engineering and manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a number of sectors including automotive, rail, defence, off highway, white goods, aerospace, marine and similar industries.

• Experience:-Proven experience in an estimating role, ideally with experience across different sectors.
• Technical Skills:-Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and an understanding associated manufacturing processes and costs.
• Soft Skills:-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work collaboratively in a team are essential.

• Location:-On site in Shrewsbury
• Working Hours:-Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
• Start Date: ASAP (October 2025)

• Salary:40-45k subject to experience
