We are seeking a Construction Estimator or Assistant Estimator within the Industrial new build sector to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes and cost control, enabling them to provide accurate estimates & takeoffs for various projects, including revised costs from client change orders and variations to contracted works . This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
• Analyse project plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather relevant data.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure competitive estimates.
• Prepare and present bid proposals to clients, highlighting key aspects of the project scope and costs.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Assist in the development of cost control measures and strategies for ongoing projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost control practices.
• Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
