Job Title: Estimator – Electrical Bias

Salary: Up to £70,000, dependent on experience + benefits

Overview
On behalf of a key client, we are recruiting an ambitious Electrical Estimator to join their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a hands-on estimating role with clear progression into management over time.
The role will suit an experienced estimator ready to take ownership of complex bids, or a motivated professional with strong estimating skills who is looking to grow into a leadership position.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
Review and analyse incoming enquiries, defining project scope and identifying specialist subcontract requirements.
Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical projects ranging from £250k to £5 million in value.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain compliant quotations that meet client specifications.
Develop detailed proposals and presentations, highlighting any risks, exclusions, and qualifications.
Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to manage elements not completed in-house.
Attend internal and client meetings to support the estimating process and project handover.
Maintain up-to-date estimate logs and ensure accurate project records.
Support the team in achieving compliance with health & safety, environmental, quality, and information security standards.
Skills & Attributes Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with Enterprise Estimating (© Trimble Inc. 1999–2024) is highly desirable, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
Strong communication, organisation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
A collaborative, proactive approach with ambition to progress into team leadership.
Full UK driving licence (restrictions apply for certain offence codes).
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of three years’ estimating experience in the electrical industry.
Knowledge of current IEE Wiring Regulations and relevant British Standards.
Demonstrable experience in estimating projects up to £5 million.
Working Arrangements
The role is ideally office-based to work closely with the estimating team, with some scope for agile working arrangements.
