About the Role

An established bespoke joinery sub-contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing commercial team in Nottinghamshire. Specialising in museums, leisure, and small retail projects, the company works with both main contractors and end users, delivering high-quality, bespoke joinery solutions.

This role is office and hybrid-based, with very limited site travel as projects are managed by the in-house PM and QS teams. You''ll join a team of three Estimators, a QS/Estimator, and Directors, with the scope to play a key role in helping to strengthen the estimating function and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for bespoke joinery projects.

   

• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

   

• Work closely with the commercial team to ensure accurate pricing and risk management.

   

• Develop strong relationships with both main contractors and end users.

   

• Contribute to tender submissions and commercial strategy to help win new business.

   

• Use Excel to compile cost estimates and manage data efficiently.

   

• Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and ensure consistency across the estimating function.

   

Person Specification

• Proven experience as an Estimator within bespoke joinery (essential).

   

• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

   

• Highly proficient with Excel for estimating and reporting.

   

• Good communicator with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and colleagues.

   

• Ideally based within 40 minutes of workshop, or willing to commit to regular travel to the workshop.

   

• Committed to a permanent position with opportunities for growth.
