About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction process, preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of mechanical building services projects. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to help secure new projects and support ongoing business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse tender documents to produce detailed mechanical cost estimates

• Prepare take offs and bills of quantities from drawings and specifications

• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

• Attend site visits, tender interviews, and client meetings as needed

• Support project planning and provide value engineering input

• Ensure estimates align with client expectations and internal targets

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates and industry standards

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical estimating within the UK building services sector

• In-depth understanding of mechanical systems in commercial and residential construction

• Proficiency in industry standard estimating software

• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and commercial awareness

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines independently
