Estimator

Leading & growing construction business is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team in Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator who is looking to take ownership of their role and play a key part in supporting the continued growth of the business.

Working closely with senior management and wider commercial team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and project information
• Preparing accurate estimates and tender submissions
• Obtaining and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Assessing project requirements, costs and potential risks
• Supporting value engineering opportunities
• Carrying out site visits and surveys where required
• Managing your own workload and ensuring deadlines are achieved
• Working closely with internal teams, suppliers and clients

About You

This role would suit an Estimator with a strong understanding of construction who is comfortable managing their own workload and contributing from day one.

You will have:

• Previous experience within estimating or a related commercial construction role
• The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your workload
