Estimator

Our client, a well-established and reputable main contractor, is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their growing commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of construction projects and play a key role in securing future work.

The Role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. Working closely with pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams, you will ensure tenders are commercially viable and aligned with the company''s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Sourcing and negotiating prices with subcontractors and suppliers
• Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings as required
• Collaborating with internal teams to develop winning bid strategies
• Maintaining a strong understanding of market conditions and pricing trends

About You

• Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
