Salary: -35,000 - -38,000 per annum
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Mon-Fri 36 hours a week

Based in Manchester we are currently recruiting for an Estimator & Planning Engineer on a permanent basis to join our developing Planning Department. We have a wide variety of prestigious clients on some of the most exciting Military and Civil aviation training engineering projects around the world and this role will be instrumental in developing this area of our business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring you have a multi-functional approach to articulate hours to complete, material availability, plan and create job tickets for production and provide regular professional updates to the sales team on manufacturing status.
- Act as the single point of contact in providing estimating data in support of customer requests.
- Check and review engineering and planning data and comment as appropriate
- Attend project and progress reviews to monitor progress & identify pertinent issues and actions
- Produce estimates & assign working times from Project budget allocations and monitor the booked times
- Plan manufacturing activities and production routes for parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies
About you:
Key Requirements:
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship (preferably in CNC machining) or experience to equivalent depth.
- Experienced in MRP / ERP systems.
- Ability to take a lead on all estimation and planning activities within your remit.
- Able to consider multiple alternatives to gain the best but most cost effective solution.
- The ability to self-manage and work under pressure to deliver and thrive in an ever-changing and dynamic environment.
- Effective communication with all internal stakeholders and external customers and suppliers.
- Commercially and financially astute with experience of working to budgets and financial targets.
- Ability to achieve UK security clearance is essential.
