Mechanical Estimator/Estimating AssistantNormanton, Wakefield 200- 220 per day Temporary, ongoing contractWe are currently looking for someone with a strong mechanical background to support the estimating function of a busy contractor based in Normanton.Previous experience as a time-served Estimator is not essential. This could be an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Supervisor, Scheduler or experienced plumbing and heating professional who understands site-based works and is looking to move into an estimating role.The role will involve:Producing cost estimates for gas, plumbing and heating worksPricing installation, repair and maintenance remedial worksObtaining and reviewing quotations from subcontractorsWorking closely with subcontractors and in-house engineersProducing estimates for other minor works when requiredUsing Excel and internal systems to prepare accurate quotationsSupporting works across the Wakefield districtWe are looking for someone with:A mechanical background, ideally within plumbing, heating or gas worksGood knowledge of mechanical installation and repair worksRelevant site, supervisory, scheduling or estimating experienceStrong administrative and organisational skillsGood working knowledge of ExcelConfidence using IT systemsA dynamic, driven and adaptable approachThe ability to price a variety of works as requiredThis is a temporary, ongoing position with no confirmed end date.
