Our client is looking for a proactive, strategic, and hands-on Regional Estates and Facilities Manager to lead the maintenance and enhancement of our portfolio of welcoming, safe, and compliant care homes across Northern England, Scotland, and London.Responsibilities
Be an integral part of the senior leadership team, shaping estates strategy in line with CQC requirements and corporate goals and working closely with home managers and other members of the leadership teamTake clear ownership of the organisations physical assets, planning and prioritising upgrades and refurbishments to keep our buildings safe, welcoming, compliant, and operationalLead, mentor, and support maintenance operatives across our homes, working closely with home managers to ensure high-quality, timely day-to-day repairs and a consistent standard of serviceDevelop annual maintenance and upgrade plans with clear capital expenditure implications, presenting professional, evidence-based recommendations to senior managementOversee, maintain, and upgrade building systems and fabric to ensure they are well-maintained, compliant, and fit for purpose, covering: building fabric; mechanical and electrical systems; safety and compliance systems; and operational installationsManage contractor send-to-end, including tendering, contracting, quality monitoring, building effective and commercially attractive long-term partnershipsEnsure robust processes and systems are in place for inspections, checks, and testing from fire safety to legionella so our homes are always inspection-readyKeep up to date with evolving statutory requirements and best practice, translating them into practical, site-level procedures and improvementsBalance operational needs with prudent financial stewardship, making recommendations that deliver long-term value and support the commercial viability of the organisationWhat Youll Bring
Proven experience managing estates, facilities, or property across multiple locations, with responsibility for physical assets and complianceStrong understanding of building systems and installations including mechanical and electrical services, safety systems, and building fabric with the insight to make sound, evidence-based recommendationsAbility to develop clear, prioritised building maintenance and upgrade plans with capital expenditure implicationsDemonstrated success leading and motivating dispersed site-based maintenance teams, building a culture of ownership, accountability, and high standardsExperience building and managing contractor relationships from obtaining competitive quotes and negotiating contracts to ensuring high-quality delivery, evaluating performance, and developing effective partnershipsIn-depth knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to care home settings, including fire safety, health and safety, legionella, LOLER, and CQC premises standardsConfidence in establishing robust systems and processes for compliance checks, record-keeping, and inspection readinessA full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel each week across sitesExcellent organisational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, support, and collaborate with colleagues at all levelsComfort using digital systems, including Excel and CAFM tools, to plan, track, and report on estates activityWillingness to work with a range of in-house dashboards and technologies to ensure transparency and proactive planningEven Better If You Also Have
