Your new role
As Employee Relations Specialist, you will play a key role in providing expert ER guidance and support to managers across multiple sites. You will manage a broad range of complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and minimising organisational risk.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing complex disciplinary, grievance, capability and investigation cases.
  • Supporting organisational change initiatives, including restructures, consultations and workforce transitions.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with employee representatives and key stakeholders.
  • Coaching and developing managers to confidently manage people issues and improve employee relations capabilities across the organisation.
  • Leading on absence management initiatives to support employee wellbeing and operational performance.
  • Providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice on employment law, risk management and best practice.
  • Supporting wider projects involving organisational change, integration activities and workforce transformation.

What you''ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a dedicated Employee Relations role within a complex, operational environment.
  • Strong experience managing complex ER casework through to resolution, including legal risk assessment and employment tribunal exposure.
  • Experience working within a unionised environment and engaging effectively with employee representatives.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
  • Strong coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and operate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, consultations and workforce transitions would be highly advantageous.
