Equipment Technician

Are you a hands-on Equipment Technician with an eye for detail and a passion for keeping technical equipment operating to the highest standards?
We are working with a leading international organisation within the professional lighting and media production equipment sector, supporting customers across the film, television and wider production industry.
They are looking for an experienced and technically minded Equipment Technician to join their busy Dagenham operation.
The Role Working as part of the operations and technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring a wide range of professional rental equipment is prepared, tested, maintained and ready for use.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing equipment before and after rental
• Carrying out PAT testing and electrical/function checks
• Inspecting equipment and identifying faults or damage
• Undertaking minor repairs and maintenance where required
• Ensuring all equipment meets the required quality and safety standards
• Recording and reporting damaged or faulty equipment
• Maintaining accurate inventory and asset records
• Using internal asset management systems to track equipment
• Supporting general inventory and warehouse activities
• Liaising with external contractors when required
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Working closely with operational staff and senior management to support business requirements
• Following all relevant health & safety procedures, including manual and mechanical handling requirements

About You We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and technically minded, with a strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an equipment, technical, workshop, rental, engineering, AV, lighting, events or similar environment
• Experience carrying out equipment checks, testing, maintenance or minor repairs
• Good IT skills and the ability to learn new asset management systems
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors and management
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A flexible approach to working hours, including occasional overtime and weekend working

Working Hours & Benefits This is a 40-hour-per-week, onsite position, working on a rotating shift pattern between 7:00am and 8:00pm, including some weekend work. Regular overtime opportunities are available.
