The council delivers a wide range of regulatory and environmental services and is seeking an experienced leader to support its Environmental Protection function during a period of increased demand. Role Overview We are recruiting an Environmental Protection Team Leader for an initial 3-month contract, starting ASAP. The role involves leading and managing a team delivering statutory environmental protection services, ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining high standards of service delivery. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and support a team of Environmental Protection Officers Oversee the delivery of environmental protection services, including statutory nuisance, pollution control, and related enforcement work Ensure compliance with relevant environmental health legislation, policies, and procedures Manage workloads, performance, and professional development of team members Provide expert technical advice on complex environmental protection cases Prepare reports and contribute to policy development and service improvement Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, and stakeholders as required Requirements (Qualifications / Skills and Experience) Essential Significant experience working within environmental protection or ..... full job details .....
