Health, safety, and environmental protection are a core value at Vantage, guiding everything we do.Position OverviewVantage is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our LHR campus. The campus currently has operational data centres and ongoing construction of new facilities. The EHS Manager will collaborate with the regional EMEA EHS team and local Data Centre Operational teams to develop and implement a world-class environmental, health and safety system to maintain high EHS standards that meet Customer and Vantage requirements.Position DescriptionYou will be responsible for improving health and safety across our Data Centres, advancing safety culture, and protecting employees. You will work closely with experts in operations, security, construction, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to advance Vantage’s health and safety program. You will partner with employees and contractors to achieve safety goals and strengthen our safety culture. As Vantage expands, you will collaborate with operations to identify and mitigate risks. You will operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving infrastructure, tools and processes, advocating safe changes. This role emphasizes executing and reporting on all EHS areas within the business and requires autonomy to implement and monitor processes that include:Responsibilities and RequirementsThe role will include management responsibilities across the following areas:Electrical Safety (Energized Electrical Work, Arc Flash, NFPA 70E)Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout), including familiarity with EU-OSHAOccupational Noise Exposure and ControlHeat Stress and Illness PreventionExposure Assessment (Industrial Hygiene)Emergency Response PlanningWorking at HeightsConfined Space EntryHeavy Material HandlingPowered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts)Construction-Related Risks (Cranes/Rigging, Trenching/Shoring, MEWPs, etc.)Fire/Life SafetyHazardous Substances HandlingWaste ManagementErgonomicsSpill Prevention and Countermeasures (SPCC)Risk Assessment and Mitigation methodology3rd Party Safety Supplier ManagementEssential Job FunctionsImplement health and safety standards and principles, including safety management systems, training, risk assessments, industrial hygiene assessments, and applicable safety regulations.Conduct health and safety audits of operational Data Centres and active construction sites to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and life safety requirements.Ensure compliance with national and international health and safety programs that exceed regulatory requirements.Develop and/or review health and safety plans for on-site emergencies, business continuity and other unique events.Maintain safety record keeping and data integrity.Perform data trend analysis to support leadership with safety initiatives.Consult and partner with the VDC compliance team for interpretations and guidance.Identify risks and partner with Operations to remediate via the hierarchy of controls.Daily interactions with customers providing health and safety guidance.DutiesReport to Vantage Data Centres Director, EHS - EMEA and serve as the primary contact for EHS program implementation across locations. Collaborate with EHS Director - EMEA to standardize policies and procedures across the European footprint. Accountable for EHS performance metrics and annual improvement plans. Periodically inspect, audit, and review safe work practices to ensure regulatory and company compliance. Conduct workplace risk/exposure assessments for various hazards. Support incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify, communicate globally, and implement corrective actions. Deliver regulatory training programs to meet EHS requirements. Monitor and communicate summaries of standards and regulatory requirements. Analyze safety metrics and present results to leadership to drive action. Work with leaders, staff and contractors to implement effective solutions. Drive standardized, harmonized approaches across the European portfolio.Present topical information/metrics to site leadership teams and Director EHS - EMEA.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead the implementation of Vantage EHS programs across the campus. Develop cross-functional relationships with facility operations and construction teams. Advise and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, and provide EHS support for operations and construction projects. Develop campus-specific EHS plans. Identify and source required EHS training for onsite employees and contingent workers, maintaining accurate training records. Support the EHS Director in developing organization-wide EHS standards and guidelines. Ensure EHS requirements are integrated into day-to-day activities with Campus Operations Director and Facilities leadership. Coordinate with the Construction Project Director to ensure contractors implement Vantage EHS standards. Support/lead accident and incident investigations with timely reporting and recording. Review procedures to assign risk levels and controls. Ensure high-risk activities are planned, controlled and managed. Prepare weekly/monthly reports and ensure data integrity. Conduct EHS inspections and audits for facilities and construction. Share best practices and lessons learned across projects. Conduct periodic EHS audits and maintain stakeholder meeting records. Develop EHS initiatives and campaigns. Where applicable, assess contractors and suppliers.Job RequirementsBoard-certified safety professional credentials (e.g., BCSP), NEBOSH Diploma, Occupational Health certification, or equivalent EHS qualification. Relevant HSE membership (e.g., IOSH; Graduate/Chartered preferred). Minimum 5+ years of progressive EHS experience managing risks across multiple sites. Working knowledge of EU-OSHA regulations and standards and other non-regulatory safety standards applicable to the location. Familiarity with ANSI/NFPA/DGUV/BG Bau standards. Ability to operate beyond compliance-based safety management to collaborate with stakeholders to balance business needs and risk.
