This role focuses on improving housing standards, protecting public health, and ensuring private rented properties meet legal requirements.The RoleYou will be responsible for investigating housing complaints, carrying out property inspections, and enforcing housing legislation where required. The role involves working closely with landlords, tenants, and partner agencies to improve housing conditions and ensure residents live in safe and healthy environments.Key duties include:Inspecting residential properties, including Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs)Assessing housing conditions using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)Investigating complaints and determining appropriate enforcement actionDrafting and serving statutory notices and other legal documentationPreparing cases for prosecution, civil penalties, appeals, and court proceedingsConducting risk assessments and producing detailed inspection reportsManaging works in default and monitoring contractor performanceProviding technical advice on housing legislation and property standardsSupporting housing-related initiatives, projects, and improvement programmesLiaising with internal departments, landlords, external ..... full job details .....
