Environmental Health Officer

Connect2Luton are excited to recruit an Environmental Health Officer on behalf of Luton Borough Council.Main purpose of position:To effectively implement and deliver complex reactive and planned workload in relation to food hygiene, food standards and health and safety enforcement service areas. Provide professional support and advice, in line with appropriate competencies, to local stakeholders and other council services.Supervise and coach less experienced team members.To deputise for the team manager and service manager as directed.You will be responsible to:Undertake planned interventions of higher risk commercial premises and identify contraventions of appropriate legislation, codes of practice, statutory guidance, policies and procedures. Determine and implement enforcement action in accordance with council policy to achieve compliance, whilst maintaining accurate and timely records of activity on the council''s computer database.Prepare statements of evidence and other information for the compilation of reports for legal proceedings and attend courts and tribunals to give evidence on behalf of the council.Provide professional technical advice to, and deal with, complex complaints and enquiries from consumers and businesses, identifying potential offences and securing compliance in accordance with the Council''s statutory duties.Investigate complex and high-profile notifications from national regulators/bodies in accordance with statutory duties and ensure actions are ..... full job details .....
