We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to take full responsibility for all EHS activities across our manufacturing site.
This is a key leadership role where you will ensure legal compliance, drive continuous improvement, maintain ISO management systems, and promote a proactive health & safety culture throughout the business.
You’ll work closely with management and operational teams to minimise risk, improve standards, and ensure environmental compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and maintain the company’s Health & Safety Management System
- Maintain and develop ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
- Ensure compliance with COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX and environmental legislation
- Conduct and review site risk assessments and internal audits
- Develop and update EHS policies and procedures
- Deliver and coordinate H&S training, inductions and refresher programmes
- Investigate accidents/incidents and liaise with regulatory authorities when required
- Manage emergency preparedness and contractor safety processes
- Support and coach managers and employees to improve site safety performance
- Manage environmental monitoring, reporting and waste compliance
- Liaise with the Environment Agency and other governing bodies
- Maintain records relating to chemicals, PPE, fire safety and training
- Mentor and develop the EHS Officer
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential)
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of UK Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
- Working knowledge of COMAH, DSEAR and ATEX regulations
- Experience in contractor management, risk assessments and emergency planning
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline desirable
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
