Environmental Compliance Manager - NCC – Innovating for IndustryBristol based – 5 days on site most weeks with flexibility as neededSalary: £43,985 to £54,083 per annum (experience dependent) plus 12.5% employer pension contribution and private medical insurance.Security Clearance Required: You would be required to undergo DV level security clearance once in role. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levelsSummary: This role will initially be focused on contributing to the design and construction of our brand-new facility, attending and contributing to project/design meetings with a view to participating in project completion processes and then being part of the Facilities Management team that will inherit the facility in approximately 18 months.You’ll focus on developing and implementing environmental strategies, policies, and initiatives to ensure NCC complies with environmental regulations and best practices, driving continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System, and enacting the company’s mission statement and objectives.This is a unique opportunity to shape the role from the ground up. Act as a credible and informed ambassador for our environmental compliance/performance. From delivering training and leading audits to championing proactive initiatives, you will inspire a culture where environmental responsibility is integrated into everything we do.Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and ISO 14001 standards.Conduct environmental audits, assessments, and inspections. Ensure sites are fully prepared for internal and external audits relating to ISO, environmental and compliance aspects.Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on environmental issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams.Monitor and analyse environmental performance data, identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and prepare reports for management review.Develop and deliver environmental training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees and promote a culture of environmental sustainability.Interpret Environment Agency requirements and permitting processes on behalf of the NCC and be the point of contact for all EA matters.Qualifications and experience
Career experience in a relevant Environmental Management role, ideally in a complex and high risk environment.Manufacturing, RandD, or Defence backgrounds essential.Ability and willingness to undertake DV level security clearance.NEBOSH or equivalent Environmental certificate highly desired (DiPEnv).Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and best practices.Comfortable working independently.Passion for promoting environmental awareness and training across teams.What we offer
