We are currently looking for an Environmental Advisor on a contract basis working on a major Tunnelling project in Tilbury.
Project: Large scale infrastructure project
- Contribute to environmental objectives in line with company policies and procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement of environmental performance across the project.
- Keep up to date with environmental legislation and best practices.
- Draft/review environmental documentation (Environmental Management Plans, Waste Management Plans, etc.).
- Support briefings and communications so employees and subcontractors understand and apply environmental plans.
- Assist with on-site compliance monitoring and documentation per standards and technical requirements.
- Prepare environmental and sustainability reports for senior management; support audits and investigations.
- Advise on environmental requirements and best practice; champion innovation and continuous improvement.
- Help develop measurement systems (e.g., SmartWaste, internal trackers) and support incident investigations.
- Promote customer requirements; take ownership of assigned work; ensure safe working practices; conduct site audits/inspections, toolbox talks, and ad-hoc environmental training.
Requirements
- Degree or Master''s (Civil, Environmental, or related disciplines considered).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, commercial awareness, and MS Office proficiency.
- Proactive, resilient, results-driven; able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines; a proven team player.
- Desirable: IEMA (or similar) membership; knowledge of environmental and H&S legislation; CSCS card; prior environmental experience.
- Willing to commute or relocate to Tilbury.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, -40 hours/week.
