Environment and Sustainability Specialist

A leading manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Environment & Sustainability Specialist to take ownership of environmental compliance, performance, and improvement at site level.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone passionate about sustainability, regulatory compliance, and continuous environmental improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the site''s Environmental Management System (EMS) to ISO 14001:2015
- Ensure regulatory compliance, manage licences/permits, and liaise with external authorities
- Define and deliver environmental objectives and sustainability initiatives
- Identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities
- Track and report on performance data and lead incident response
- Support cross-functional teams with technical expertise and best practice guidance
- Represent environment in site leadership reviews and internal/external audits
The successful candidate will: -
- Be experienced in an environmental role, gained within manufacturing
- Deep understanding of environmental legislation and ISO 14001
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis skills
- Ability to lead projects and influence sustainable change across teams
