Mech Tech Professionals have an opportunity available for an Enhanced Technician to apprehend a full-time position based in Kent. 

Our client, one of the UK's most prestigious Waste and resource management companies, requires an experienced professional to join their team as soon as possible or upon availability. 

Overview

As an Enhanced Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the Health, Safety and wellbeing of all operational staff, contractors and stakeholders at an Energy from Waste Facility.

Whilst reporting directly to the Shift Manager, your primary focus will be to facilitate daily operational activities, carry out on-site tasks and operate plant equipment in line with the client's procedures.

The shift pattern will be 40 hours per week, working a shift pattern: 07:00 - 19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Operating plant equipment safely and efficiently, in adherence to company procedures
  • Understand an implement SHEQ policies
  • Maintaining and monitoring compliance with environmental permits
  • Ensuring compliance across health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Carrying out operational procedures and Risk assessments
  • Participating in H&S inspections and workplace investigations
  • Ensure all staff members and sub-contractors are adequately trained and competent to carry out daily activities
  • Engaging with employees and contractors who do not abide to Health, Safety and Environment policies
  • Other 

Candidate requirements:

  • The Enhanced Technician must be authorised to operate a EFW facility, or working towards.
  • The Enhanced Technician will have a broad technical background in Plant operations or maintenance (preferred)
  • Relative experience, including practical and supervisory experience with large boiler and rotating plant (preferred)
  • Authorised to administer Safety rules to SAP L2 or working towards
  • Experienced with working in a team environment
  • Hold the ability to implement operation procedures and risk assessments

Qualifications and Skillset:

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent: Higher National Certificate (HNC) in relevant discipline
  • Completed or working towards obtaining NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety / IOSH Managing Safely training 
  • Completion/experience of relevant Competency Management System modules (preferred)
  • Hold an understanding of Health, Safety & Environment legislation 
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office, Nisoft Eclipse, Gladis and CMMS etc.
  • Demonstrate clear & effective team building, motivation and encouraging values to the team on site
