The Role
A secondary school in Solihull is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join its English department from September 2026 on a supply basis.
The successful candidate will teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that develop students’ reading, writing, communication, and analytical skills. You will support students in building confidence while preparing them for their GCSE English qualifications.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You will uphold high expectations for behaviour and achievement while encouraging students to develop creativity, critical thinking, and a genuine appreciation of English.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or be an ECT
• Have experience teaching English across KS3 and KS4
• Be confident delivering English Language and Literature
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Be committed to supporting student progress and raising attainment
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Have a genuine passion for English and inspiring young people
