The Role
A secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their English department from September 2026 on a supply basis.
The successful candidate will teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills. You will inspire learners through a broad range of literary texts while supporting them in achieving excellent outcomes in their GCSE English qualifications.
The role will involve planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence and a lifelong appreciation of literature and language. Working within a supportive English department, you will contribute to raising standards and ensuring all learners achieve their full potential.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS or be an ECT
- Have experience teaching English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
- Be confident delivering GCSE English content
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Be committed to raising standards and supporting student achievement
- Have a genuine passion for English and inspiring young people to succeed
