A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Aylesbury, rated andlsquo;Goodandrsquo; by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated English specialist to join their team from October 2025. This opportunity is open to both full-time and part-time applicants, offering flexibility to suit your circumstances.
About the Role:
- Deliver dynamic and well-structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a lasting appreciation for reading and writing
- Contribute to the design and development of an innovative, inclusive English curriculum
- Employ effective assessment strategies to track student progress and promote achievement
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive
- Support and participate in extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, writing workshops, or school productions
- Work collaboratively within the department to share best practices and drive continuous improvement
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be actively working towards its completion
- Hold a degree in English Language, English Literature, or a closely related field
- Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a confident, engaging classroom presence
- Ability to inspire and motivate students across a range of abilities and backgrounds
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A reflective, forward-thinking approach to teaching with a commitment to continuous professional development
