Supply Desk is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Milton Keynesandnbsp;to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacherandnbsp;for a long-term role starting in October 2025. The position is expected to run through December 2025, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, supported by a collaborative and forward-thinking English department. This role is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs)andnbsp;and experienced practitioners. The school is also happy to consider unqualified teachers or non-specialists with relevant experience teaching English at secondary level.
About the Role:
- Design and deliver dynamic, inclusive English lessons that inspire and challenge all learners
- Monitor and assess student progress, offering clear, constructive feedback to support improvement
- Contribute to curriculum planning and take an active role in department initiatives
- Foster a supportive, well-structured classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and engagement
- Take part in wider school life, including extracurricular activities and events
The ideal candidate will:
- A degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related field (essential)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (preferred)
- Proven experience teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Strong classroom management abilities and effective communication skills
- A clear passion for English and a commitment to inspiring student learning
